We are so excited about the increasing visibility of our project, thanks to our collaboration with Steven Strogatz.
The November blog focusses on inductive and deductive reasoning, which we have identified as a key component of "really doing mathematics" in ALL of our mathematics courses. To learn more about inductive reasoning (and that it is not the same as proof by induction), read the blog :)
More people have expressed interest in visiting us to be immersed in IBL for a day. We posted a schedule of our classes for this Fall and next Spring so you can think about a visit. You could observe our classes and discuss the nuts and bolts of teaching IBL in an MLA class (and other classes like calculus) with us. Email us if you are interested...
