Dear Colleagues, Friends, & Supporters,

We are excited to get ready for the Joint Math Meetings in January in San Diego, CA. Once again we will share a booth with MLI (Mathematics Learning by Inquiry), please stop by to connect and try some of our activities!

The long AIBL workshops are open for registration, if you want to dive deeper into planning a new IBL course consider signing up.

We continue to find people intrigued by our blog "The Art of Asking Good Questions". How do our ideas relate to your teaching?

We hope you will have a great winter break!

Sincerely,

Julian Fleron, Phil Hotchkiss, Volker Ecke, & Christine von Renesse.

p.s. In case you have missed it: our website now allows faculty to create a free account and access teacher materials to some of our books. We are working on completing the teacher materials for all the books. Please have a look and tell us what you think.

Dr. Volker Ecke working with students

As I walk around listening to the student groups grappling with making sense of the mathematics on their own, how can I encourage and support their efforts without just giving them "the answers"? How to engage them in mathematical conversations that will make their thinking visible?
